2025 Call for Nominations for New Board Members

Greetings NOMATA Members and Supporters:
NOMATA is pleased to announce a call for nominations for new Board Directors for 2025. We are also accepting self-nominations. NOMATA’s mission is to “promote the development of tennis as a means of healthful recreation and physical fitness for all metropolitan New Orleans area youth and adults and to cooperate with the United States Tennis Association and other associations in the pursuit of these aims”. Through the USTA pathway of linked programs, it encourages existing and prospective junior and adult tennis players to try, learn and compete in the sport of tennis. NOMATA, serves as the Southeast regional community tennis association, and represents Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, and St. Charles parishes. NOMATA is a volunteer-run and operated nonprofit organization.

Open Positions
We are seeking candidates to fill the following Board positions:
● Coordinator, Volunteers
● Coordinator, Marketing/Social Media
● Coordinator, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
● Professional Tennis Representative

Qualifications
We are interested in receiving nominations for candidates with a commitment to strengthening the New Orleans metropolitan tennis community infrastructure and who are:
● A member of USTA
● SafeSport trained by acceptance of Board position
● Strongly committed to NOMATA’s mission and objectives
● Engaged in, knowledgeable about and have demonstrated experience with NOMATA and its program areas (e.g., Tennis Apprentice, Junior Team Tennis, Adult Leagues, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) and/or local programs offered by National Junior Tennis Leagues (NJTL), tennis facilities and schools.
● Knowledgeable and experienced in one or more of the following areas: nonprofit and/or corporate board level service; facilitation of volunteer support; marketing/social media including knowledge of Word Press, Facebook, and Instagram; and USPTA or USPTR certification.
● Representatives of diverse backgrounds (e.g., cultural/racial and ethnic, gender, varying physical and mental abilities), who are accomplished as well as the next generation of leaders.
● Able to participate in development-related activities, as required.

We are looking to add Board members from within its footprint which includes Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, and St. Charles parishes. Board members are expected to fully participate as leaders or members of working committees and must be a USTA member.

Terms of Office
In accordance with the Bylaws of NOMATA, officers and other Board positions are elected for a single two-year term. Term is renewable for another two years by decision of the Board.
